ARS POETICA

Based on Iliana Pichardo Urrutia’s poem Ars Poetica, this short film searches the landscape for traces that open a path toward poetry as a cinematic experience. The dialogue between the image, the soundscape, and the words suspended within the poem is not one of direct correspondence. Instead, bodies, objects abandoned in the desert, and vehicles of territorial surveillance become the sign of a shipwreck with no harbor.

In addition to being part of the Official Selection at GIFF, the Guanajuato International Film Festival, Ars Poetica was selected as a finalist for the 2026 International Latino Book Awards, whose awards ceremony will take place this October in San Diego, California.
