Patos Salvajes / Words on a Wire / ECOS
Three approaches to conversation and spoken-word storytelling through podcast production, radio, sound editing, and short-form video.
Patos Salvajes

Podcast Series · 12 Episodes
Patos Salvajes was a concept I developed together with Zazil Collins and Iliana Pichardo after we were commissioned by Daniel Chacón to create a Spanish-language podcast for the Words on a Wire platform, broadcast on KTEP in El Paso, Texas.
The transient image of wild ducks became a way of thinking about our own experiences of migration as writers and poets. From that idea emerged a series of conversations centered on artistic creation, writing, and the territory in which artists live and work.
The first twelve-episode season was titled The First Migration.
Throughout the season, the project grew into a collaborative effort that included Zazil Collins, Lorenzo Camacho, Mónica Ibáñez, Karen Cano, Héctor Sánchez, and Silvia Castro.
My work on the project included developing the original concept, conducting interviews, editing, sound production, and final delivery, shaping recorded conversations into complete narrative episodes.
Today, Patos Salvajes continues as an independent podcast affiliated with the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP).

Conversation as a Narrative Form
Across these projects, conversation becomes both material and structure. My role has ranged from creating and producing an entire podcast series to writing scripts, shaping interviews through editing, mastering finished episodes, and extending spoken-word projects into short-form video.
